Malaysia’s leading exhibition for the architecture, interior design and building industry, ARCHIDEX 17, is set to return this year with more insights and inspirations.
Last year’s ARCHIDEX 16 has seen a record-setting in attendance with 34,300 visitors including over 15,000 industry professionals alike.
“ARCHIDEX is a platform that reflects the robust growth of a Malaysia that is poised for the future where initiative, innovation and entrepreneurship flourish,” says Tan Sri Dato Sri Ar Esa Mohamed, President of the International Union of Architects (UIA).
“ARCHIDEX is the most hyped environment for us because it is meant for every stakeholder related to the architectural industry,” says Alok Ghose, Managing Director for Lighting, Philips Malaysia.
ARCHIDEX remains steadfast to its goal of servicing and advancing the industry by establishing a business platform on which to showcase the best and brightest of our robust industry. Over the past 16 years, ARCHIDEX has grown to become the most recognised and successful congregation of professionals not just within Malaysia but increasingly from the around the region.
A continuous focus on delivering an even more efficient platform remains a driving force within the event. As Malaysia is the gateway to the burgeoning Asean region, ARCHIDEX remains committed to taking our exhibitors beyond borders to the future. This year’s show will focus on the increasing importance of Building Systems and Technology (BST) that fosters greater efficiency and cost control for every company and sector.
The Malaysian construction sector in itself remains the fastest growing economic sector in 2015 with a GDB growth noted at 8.2% year-on-year. The 10th Malaysia Plan drew to a close in 2015 with the construction sector charting a solid compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11% in the five-year period. Under the 11th Malaysia Plan (2016-2020), some RM260bil of development expenditure represents a 16% increase from the previous plan, which bodes well for the growth trajectory of the construction industry (The Star).
Back on board this year will be luxury European bathroom specialist Roca as our Signature Partner. Renowned for its stunning collection of dream bathrooms displayed in full splendour every year, Roca will celebrate its 110th anniversary with surprises in store that will be revealed closer to the event.
“This exhibition has provided us with very good response and market penetration to increase brand awareness, not only in Malaysia but the rest of the South East Asian region,” says Josep Delicado, Managing Director of Roca Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Besides the majority professionals and trade visitors, a significant part of ARCHIDEX’s visitorship comprises architecture, design and building industry students. ARCHIDEX extends a warm welcome to the future generation of architects, urban planners, designers and developers who will become game changers. Look out for special announcements just for you.
“Our students have received an inspiring and fruitful experience. Most of the Managing Directors and CEOs were very informative and welcoming to our students. They’ve shared a great amount of insight, and definitely as they enter the industry as Interior Designers in the future, ARCHIDEX will always be the first event to look forward to annually,” says Mr. Mike Teo, a lecturer from INTI Center of Art & Design after their maiden visit in ARCHIDEX 16.
ARCHIDEX warmly wishes our invaluable partners, sponsors, exhibitors and visitors a joyous 2017 ahead abundant with achievements! And to those who will be celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year, we wish you delightful reunions with family, friends and colleagues and a splendid start to your year!
