BYO Living is an award-winning design studio based in Jakarta, Indonesia, specializing in innovative weaving. Founded in 2008 by Lim Masulin, BYO Living envisions progressive, energy-efficient design solutions for the global market, while working closely with local communities to preserve and celebrate the indigenous art of weaving.

Our approach blends advanced research, development, and construction with customized, site-specific solutions. We work with a diverse range of materials, including natural and synthetic rattan, metal, plastic, paper, and leather, bringing traditional craftsmanship into the modern design landscape. Our mission is to elevate Indonesian artisanship, positioning it within contemporary design on an international scale. We partner closely with designers and architects, acting as their dedicated weaving design resource.

Our work has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Good Design Award of the Year 2021 (1st place) and Japan’s G-Mark Award. Our collaboration with Andra Matin Architect also received a Special Mention at the 2018 Venice Biennale of Architecture. Over the years, we have collaborated with distinguished designers and corporations worldwide.
