Judges find exceptional array of new products and innovation at ARCHIDEX

Every year ARCHIDEX rewards excellence – in product innovation and creativity of booth design. Chief Judge Ar.Zainal Abdull Aziz, of Urban Space Practice finds the spectrum of products this year ticked all the right boxes of sustainability, innovation and contemporaneous.

“We are looking for new products that are innovative and can be used by the Malaysian architectural and building industry. I am particularly interested in looking for products which are sustainable in nature or green products,” he reveals.

Judge for best booth design, IDr Norshafina Ibrahim, the Deputy President of Malaysia Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) was particularly impressed by booth designs that utilised sustainable materials, more so those that demonstrated the agility to repurpose the materials and reinstall them as new structures.

Calling for more interesting forms or shapes to lead the booth designs, she hoped for more brazen creations moving forward, that played with elements and piqued the curiosity of visitors.

Both judges were glad to see the return of ARCHIDEX, bigger and better than ever, as the most important exhibition that lets the industry players seek new products, materials and technology, as well as stay up-to-date on the industry’s currents.
