ARCHIDEX expects to again surpass RM1b in transacted value
ARCHIDEX is again projected to surpass RM1 billion in transacted value according to Minister of Local Government Development (KPKT), Tuan Nga Kor Ming.
He said the achievement is a result of a strategic partnership between the public and private sector, in line with MADANI inclusive principles. Tuan Nga pointed out that this year, ARCHIDEX will run concurrently with the ASEAN-China Ministerial Roundtable on Construction and Housing (ACMROCH 2024), creating an excellent ecosystem for the architecture and construction industry.
“This provides a bigger platform and opportunity, particularly for ASEAN and China. We could keep abreast with the latest technology and innovation from China. Simultaneously, it fosters a platform for the export of products and expertise that we have in Malaysia,” he said.
The minister highlighted that the property developers in the country are exceptional, as they have taken 35 gold medal in the ‘Olympics’ of the property sector, the FIABCI World Prix d’ Excellence Awards.
C.I.S President, Dato Vincent Lim said he is heartened by the vibrant and positive response for ARCHIDEX and ACMROCH which was officiated by the Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and graced by ministry representatives from ASEAN and China.
He pointed out that ARCHIDEX’s positive reception is a testament for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry in Malaysia.
“Currently, Malaysia is ranked third in the MICE industry in ASEAN after Singapore and Thailand. We have immense potential to take second place if there is a bigger exhibition and convention venue.”
Lim explained the that MICE industry in Malaysia requires a bigger venue which incorporates convention centre, hotels and shopping malls under one roof in order to realise market potential and grow beyond the current demand.
