Architectural Event of the Year: ARCHIDEX in July Will Welcome Prime Minister & KPKT to Host ASEAN-China Meeting
The anticipation for ARCHIDEX 2024 is reaching new heights, igniting a fervour of excitement following the announcement of several historic firsts by Housing and Local Government (Kementerian Perumahan & Kerajaan Tempatan, KPKT), Minister YB Nga Kor Ming at a special preview held on 18 April 2024.
The minister proudly proclaimed that for the first time ever, ARCHIDEX will be officiated by the Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, a testament to the event’s growing importance. ARCHIDEX is also proud to collaborate with KPKT who will be hosting the ASEAN-China Ministerial Roundtable Meeting on Construction and Housing (ACMROCH) 2024 concurrently with ARCHIDEX.
This prestigious event brings together ministers from all ASEAN countries and China.
The timing of this event holds particular significance as Malaysia commemorates its 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China. The ACMROCH aims to deepen and strengthen the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and ASEAN-China strategic partnership in housing and urban-rural development.
Minister Nga Kor Ming expressed his confidence in ARCHIDEX, stating, “We see the immense potential of this exhibition for the industry. We believe that ARCHIDEX will make Malaysia proud, leading to further collaboration opportunities with ASEAN countries and China.”
Also in attendance during the launch were Ar. Abu Zarim Abu Bakar, President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM); Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Vincent Lim, President of C.I.S; and Ar Dr Lim Teng Ngiom, KLAF 2024 Director.
ARCHIDEX 2024 is poised to showcase Malaysia’s excellence in the built environment on an unprecedented scale. Spanning the entire KLCC exhibition area, including a 11th Hall located in an adjacent space, it covers a sprawling 26,000 sqm, the largest architectural expo in Malaysian history. With 700 local and international exhibitors across over 1,500 exhibition booths, and an anticipated 40,000 visitors from over 100 countries, ARCHIDEX 2024 is set to redefine industry standards and inspire the next generation of architectural marvels.
