KL Architecture Week
Reviving Kuala Lumpur’s Heartbeat
Beneath Kuala Lumpur’s modern skyline lies a city rich with forgotten stories waiting to be uncovered. Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW) is a celebration of architecture, arts, and heritage, woven into the living fabric of the city.
An initiative by ARCHIDEX, KLAW represents an intentional step beyond the exhibition halls and into the cultural heartbeat of Kuala Lumpur. While ARCHIDEX is known for convening industry and facilitating business, KLAW reflects a deeper responsibility: to give back to the community, inspire youth and future leaders, and bring architecture, arts, and heritage back into public life. This initiative is not profit-driven, but a purposeful platform to nurture creativity, cultural awareness, and lasting connections between people and place.
The 2026 Theme
Guided by the theme TE–TAMU — Temu (to meet) and Tamu (a place of meeting) — KLAW sparks encounters: between heritage and contemporary design, between art and structure, between international visitors and local narratives, and between the city people remember, and the city they are rediscovering.
Across the River of Life, KL Downtown, and Petaling Street, spatial installations emerge not as objects placed in space, but as experiences unfolding within the city. Architects and artists are invited to interpret TE–TAMU through immersive works that honour craft, culture, and history — allowing the public to walk through ideas, pause within stories, and see familiar streets through a renewed lens.

About Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW)
Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW 2025) is an initiative by ARCHIDEX. KLAW 2025 is designed to revitalise Kuala Lumpur through architecture, art and heritage, by taking the creative energy of the exhibition beyond the venue and into the vibrant streets of the city. It aims to Converge, Collaborate and Celebrate the talents, stories and culture that shape our urban spaces.
Centred around Old Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Street, KLAW 2025 will reveal the city’s hidden gems, uncover architectural narratives and bridge the exhibition and business events industry with leisure and cultural exploration. This initiative seeks to spark greater community engagement, boost local economic activity and establish a creative epicentre that delivers a memorable experience for all.

Reclaim the Heart of Kuala Lumpur
“KL Architecture Week is where architecture, arts and heritage awaken in the heart of Old Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Street, revealing the city’s hidden tourist gems. With the aim to connect the business events industry with tourism, we hope to drive a stronger visitor economy and create meaningful, memorable experience for everyone.”

KL Architecture Week is an initiative by ARCHIDEX, and we support it. It will be another branding for Kuala Lumpur. It’s a platform to activate the city through architecture, art, and community. It is important to have the participation from the local community in line with our philosophy, Public-Private-Partnership principle so that the local community will have a sense of belonging.

The design installations are very inspiring. DBKL welcomes initiatives and programmes like KLAW, as they help us activate spaces across the city. Through art installations like these, we not only invite tourists but also encourage locals to rediscover and explore Kuala Lumpur in new ways. It is DBKL’s aspiration to see more of such community-driven and creative activities throughout the city — and perhaps, KLAW marks the beginning of this movement.
