ARCHIDEX Goes Global: UIA 2024 International Forum Kuala Lumpur
For the first time, Malaysia will play host to the prestigious Malaysia 2024 UIA International Forum, slated to be held in Kuala Lumpur from November 15 to 19, 2024.
Making the announcement yesterday at ARCHIDEX Nite, Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, Past President on Council, PAM, disclosed the successful bid for the UIA International Forum which will serve as an esteemed platform where architects, urban planners, city policymakers, and other stakeholders convene to engage in comprehensive discussions.
This platform fosters dialogue on city development, encompassing not only architectural and infrastructural aspects but also focusing on the broader realms of humanity and sustainability. By facilitating these conversations, we seek to better understand how cities can evolve in a manner that aligns with sustainable practices and optimal planning for their growth.
The theme for next year’s forum centres on diversity, aiming to cast a spotlight on the global stage as Malaysia, a multicultural nation, endeavours to harness collective efforts for economic progress. Concurrently, we aspire to gain insights into cultural preservation, heritage building conservation, and the safeguarding of intangible assets.
Through the exchange of ideas during the forum, we anticipate discovering novel perspectives and identifying appropriate pathways to preserve our heritage while fostering the progress of a harmonious, multicultural, and multiracial nation.
